Sunshine Coast Airport is serviced by Jetstar, Virgin Australia and Qantas domestically as well Air New Zealand who provide seasonal flight services from Auckland. Centrally located in Marcoola, the Sunshine Coast Airport offers a range of transport options including shuttle buses, hire cars, taxis, and public bus services.

Alternatively, Brisbane Airport is both an international and domestic gateway to Queensland with regular transfers to the Sunshine Coast.

Bus services operate hourly door-to-door airport shuttle services between the Brisbane Airport and Sunshine Coast seven days a week. Transport between Brisbane Airport and the Sunshine Coast can also be accessed via the train to Beerwah, Landsborough or Nambour train stations. Limousines can be booked for private transfers.


Multiple daily direct services operate from Sydney and Melbourne to Sunshine Coast Airport with Jetstar, Virgin Australia and Qantas.  New direct flights from Adelaide to the Sunshine Coast with Jetstar will commence on 30 September, 2016.

Local bus services operate door-to-door airport shuttles servicing both the Sunshine Coast Airport and Brisbane Airport seven days a week.

Air New Zealand operates a regular seasonal service from Auckland to the Sunshine Coast during the winter months, providing direct access to the destination for international visitors. Connectivity via the Air New Zealand network positions Auckland Airport as a gateway to the Sunshine Coast, particularly for North American travellers.

Brisbane Airport is the international gateway to Queensland with regular transfers to the Sunshine Coast. Brisbane Airport operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week and has two major terminals servicing 26 airlines flying to 67 destinations.

Trains and Buses

A railway line connects the region to Brisbane in the south, and Gympie and beyond, to the north.

Driving Directions

The Sunshine Coast is easily accessed as a self-drive destination. Located about 100 kms north of Brisbane, the capital city of Queensland.  All major car rental companies are represented at both the Sunshine Coast Airport and Brisbane Airport.

Designated parking at Start and Finish area is limited, we ask that all athletes and spectators driving to Start & Finish area plan before their trip and obey local parking regulation areas.

The areas below are additional recommended parking area for each days start and finish areas:

Day 1

Start: Ballinger Park, Buderim please follow directions of all Traffic Controllers and Police

Finish: Please look for on street parking in this area, please avoid Ballinger Rd, Buderim

Day 2

Start: Please look for on street parking in this area, please avoid Seaview Terrace, Moffats Beach

Finish: Please look for on street parking in this area, please avoid Pine Grove Road, Woombye

Day 3

Start: Novotel Twin Waters Resort, please follow directions of all Traffic Controllers and Police
